Melaina Shipwash (born May 25, 1986) is an American beauty pageant titleholder who won the title of Miss Colorado 2010 and will compete in the Miss America 2011 pageant on January 15, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.[1] Her talent is Jazz Dance and she competed at Miss Colorado as Miss Colorado Springs.[2] Her platform is Project HEAL – Raising Funds and Awareness for Eating Disorder Patients, which she chose because she battled anorexia nervosa in high school.[3] She is a graduate student at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where she is studying diet & nutrition and Captain of their Dance Team. She is also a choreographer and an ice skating teacher.[4]
